Diving in Mexico. Courses.

Our dive center in Mexico offers teaching diving in Ukrainian, Russian, English, Spanish, and Latvian. We teach PADI and TDI courses. Here are some facts that motivate people around the world to go diving: our beautiful planet is covered with water by 71%, the bottom of the World Ocean is less studied than the surface of the Moon, every year scientists discover new, previously unknown species of marine organisms and fishes, classify and name them. Diving is beautiful, interesting, fun and informative! People who go diving frequently, know more about this world, they travel more, have more friends around the world and in general they are more happy in this life.

Motivation is very important in diving. It is important for us to know your motivation for diving training. Before we start teaching, we usually ask the students, why did you decide to go diving? You should be willing to learn, and then we can teach you. It is impossible to teach a person if he does not want to learn. We do not train unmotivated people, those who do the course just because the husband, friend etc. asked him to do a course together, and he cannot refuse!

Here are some principles of teaching diving in our dive center.

We do everything right from the beginning. No re-training.

According to our experience, a dive instructor faces the problem of re-training his own students. For example, a person completed the initial dive course PADI OWD and began to gain dive experience, to travel to different seas and oceans. Then a year passes, after another one and here he comes as an experienced advanced diver to do technical courses and says: "teach me". And the instructor usually answers: "Forget what I taught you earlier, now everything should be done in a different way. New equipment configuration, different hoses position, new skills". In this regard, we decided to train all diving courses staring from Open Water Diver to the technical Advanced Trimix Diver, as well as instructor courses, in a unified Bill Hogarthgear configuration. Thisgivesyouthefollowingbenefits:

 - Unified configuration. The equipment and position of the hoses will always be the same, from the initial to technical or cave courses.

- No need to retrain. Do everything right from the beginning. Just a few simple skills will be added.

- A long, main hose allows you to dive (ascent) comfortably with your buddy in out of gas situation.

- This configuration of the BCD jacket (wing) allows diver to hold and keep the correct horizontal position in the water - "trim".

- and of course Hogarth's system is reliable, minimalist simple, safe, elegant, cheap and simply pretty :)

Training of underwater skills on the surface.

Experience shows, that "dry sweep" of the skills on the surface, with the instructor comments, greatly speeds up the learning process! We apply this practice to students, when teaching both initial courses and technical diving ones!

Basic buoyancy skills

These skills we teach at all the initial courses, although they are not mandatory by standards. We are deeply convinced that the basic buoyancy skills should be taught on the first classes of the Open Water Diver course. However, this does not always happen. Not many divers, and sometimes not even divemasters and instructors know what kind of skills they are and how to do them properly. After being trained by such instructors, students usually get certified, and they do not know how to swim under water properly. So that’s how we get underwater "cyclists" and "wounded seahorses" :)

Instructors training

Many popular training systems and course directors (instructor trainers) train instructor candidates only to pass the exam with the examiner. And after that, newly-minted instructors who have never worked with a "live" student ask: "Okay, but how shell I teach him?"

Our approach to the instructors training is different. The most important is that the training of instructors of all levels goes together with diving courses. Thus, future instructor works with real students, under direct supervision and guidance of course director (instructor trainer). We share all our instructor's experience and skills. We teach the basics of psychological work with people. After all, a good instructor is also a good psychologist who immediately feels a person and sees which attitudeshould be applied to one or the other student.

Paying the course does not mean automatic certification.

This is rather a disadvantage than an advantage, you will say, but it is not. Diving is a hobby associated with certain risk, since it takes place in an environment unusual for human beings, and can lead to death if a diver behaves inadequately in the water. Student must demonstratecorrectly ALL skills of the course and pass the theoretical part. In addition, he must show a responsible and adequate attitude to diving, follow all safety rules; independently, accurately plan and perform dives! Even if you worked very hard during the course, but were not able to do something or did not do duly or you "failed" on the completive dive, you will have to train by yourself or with an instructor (divemaster) additionally, then demonstrate that you mastered this skill or planned and made a completive dive accurately and only then you will receive a cherished card (international diver certificate)!

Technical diving in Mexico. Learning Tec TDI.

Technical divers in Mexico do have where to dive and what to see. Off the mainland coast of the Caribbean Sea at the Playa del Carmen area there is a dive site called The Wall that goes down more than 100 meters (330 feet). Cozumel island is famous for its drop offs, vertical reefswalls. Herealmost at every site you can do a decompression dive to any depth. Cenotes are dips; some of them look like natural pits or huge wells 40-50 meters deep, some even up to 85 meters deep. Among them KaanLuum, The Pit, Angelita, Zapote. So for deep immersion lovers we are happy to organize diving, and those who want to learn technical diving, are welcome to TDI courses. We do a full range of courses from the initial Intro to Tec to the Advanced Trimix Diver. Please follow this link to find prices for all technical TDI courses.

Cave diving in Mexico. Cave Diver TDI Training.

Mexico is a paradise for cave divers. According to some technical specialists, the total length of the cave systems of the Yucatan Peninsula is about 2000 km. In the beginning of 2018,a research team managed to connect two largest underwater cave systems in Mexico, known as Sac Actun and Dos Ojos in Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico. That makes the Sac Actun system the longest in the world. About 347 km of connected tunnels, galleries and passages. Prior to this, the longest underwater cave system in the world was the Mammoth Cave in Kentucky, USA The deepest explored cave in Mexico is called the Pit, the depth is 119 m, the cave belongs to Dos Ojos cave system. Cave systems and cenotes are continued to be explored and mapped now days.  Expeditions are being organized, new artifacts are being found, but most of the cenotes are located in impenetrable jungles with no roads, and getting to them is possible only using machete. All this requires great efforts, significant financial investments and great enthusiasm.Having been qualified as a cave diver, you can become one of the explorers and visit places where, perhaps, no man has stepped his foot yet.

Cave courses consist of three levels (courses). Three separate certificates are issued.

Caverndiver. Dives in the grottoes where daylight can be seen.
